Lipodissolve - A Louisville Liposuction Alternative

Lipodissolve melts away areas of fat through the use of carefully-selected medical compounds injected directly into the layers of fat. These chemicals rupture the fat cells, which are then removed through your body's natural cleansing process. While less invasive than liposuction at our Louisville surgery center, lipodissolve is best suited to treat small areas of fat. It can be a good way to touch up liposuction results as well.

Multiple treatments are often required to achieve a patient's desired amount of contouring. Anesthesia usually is not needed, and a mild pain reliever should be all you need to handle discomfort following the procedure. A small amount of bruising and swelling should be expected for about a week or 2 after treatment.

The Procedure

First, the areas to be treated are marked, and then a series of injections is delivered into the layers of fat cells. Each injection is a few centimeters apart to ensure proper coverage of the lipodissolve solution. Total treatment time is around 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated and number of injections. There is no downtime associated with this outpatient procedure, so you should be ready to head home after a very brief recovery period in our office.

Soon after treatment, you will begin to experience bruising, swelling, and tenderness, which should start to improve about 3 days after the procedure and be completely cleared up 7 to 10 days afterward. Each additional treatment will be scheduled 6 to 8 weeks after the previous procedure.
