About Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure in our on-site surgical suite. This procedure lasts 1 to 2 hours and is usually performed with the patient under local or IV sedation. Eyelid surgery is a highly detailed procedure that requires the surgeon to make careful incisions and corrections. The procedure may involve removing or repositioning fat, removing excess skin, and altering muscles. Incisions are very fine and hidden within the natural folds and creases of the eyelids.

How Much Does Eyelid Surgery Cost?

The cost for eyelid surgery varies, depending on whether you are treating both the upper and lower eyelids or just treating the upper eyelids. For upper and lower eyelid surgery, the cost ranges from $9,000 to $11,000, and for an upper eyelid lift, the price usually ranges from $3,500 to $4,500. To determine the best approach for your needs and goals and for a customized estimate, we recommend scheduling a consultation with our surgeon. We offer several financing options for our patients to set up affordable monthly payments.

What to Expect During Recovery

Healing rates after blepharoplasty vary from person to person. In general, expect temporary discomfort, tightness of the lids, or swelling. Temporary dryness of the eyes and burning may also occur. Bruising may last for 2 to 3 weeks.

Return to Work

Patients are typically ready to return to work in 7 to 10 days but should limit strenuous activity for 3 weeks or more.

Other Things to Know

Results from eyelid surgery are typically long-lasting. Although surgery will not halt the aging process, it will create a lasting improvement that continues to keep you looking younger than your chronological age.
