A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is performed to reduce forehead creases, improve drooping eyebrows, minimize upper eyelid hooding, and improve frown lines located between the eyebrows. Although occasionally still performed by making an incision across the scalp, the majority of brow lift procedures at our Kentucky practice are now performed with the use of a small endoscope - a surgical tool that consists of a small, flexible wand with a camera attached at the end. By using the endoscope, our surgeons only need to make a few very small incisions along the scalp to access underlying tissues.

Choosing a Brow Lift in Kentucky

Your plastic surgeon will give more details about this procedure and help you decide whether it's a good choice for you. The procedure takes 1 to 2 hours and can be performed with local or IV sedation or general anesthesia. Patients may experience temporary swelling, numbness, bruising, and headaches.

Risks include nerve injury, infection, minor hair loss, numbness in the scalp, and uneven eyebrows. Patients may usually return to work within 5 to 10 days; more strenuous activity should be limited for three weeks or more. Results usually last from 5 to 10 years.

Patients may choose to combine their brow lift with other facial cosmetic procedures, including eyelid surgery, BOTOX® Cosmetic and facelift in Kentucky.
