Lip augmentation can be achieved by placing a permanent implant made from a variety of materials. Our surgeons most commonly use an implant made of a spongy material called Gore-Tex. Popular Gor-Tex implants include Softform, Ultrasoft and Advanta PTFE. Our surgeons most commonly use the Advanta PTFE implant, placing small incisions in the corner of the mouth. Permanent implants placed in the lips, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines can permanently improve volume and fullness. This procedure can be performed in the office with local anesthesia. Risks include infection, bruising, loss of implant, hardening of the implant, asymmetry or palpability of the implant.
