Choosing Rhinoplasty in Louisville, Kentucky

The extent of surgery will vary depending on the procedures being performed and whether the nose bones will need to be fractured. The surgery usually takes 2 to 3 hours and can be performed with local and IV sedation or general anesthesia. Patients usually experience some degree of temporary swelling, bruising, stuffiness and headaches.

While most people have a comfortable and successful recovery, complications such as infection, bleeding, and incomplete improvement may require follow-up care or additional surgery. Patients may return to work or school in 7 to 10 days, but should limit more strenuous activity for 2 to 4 weeks, and must avoid sunburn or hitting the nose for 2 months or more. Your final nose appearance after rhinoplasty may not be seen for up to a year. The results are generally permanent.
