Brazilian Butt Lift
While exercise can reshape and fill out the buttocks to a certain extent, many women and men can't attain the full, rounded shape they want on their own. Dr. M. Bradley Calobrace, Dr. Nana Mizuguchi, and Dr. Chet Mays offer buttock augmentation, also called a Brazilian butt lift, to help people from Louisville and Lexington, KY, enhance their appearance naturally using their own body fat.
To find out if a Brazilian butt lift can give you the look you want, request a consultation at Calobrace & Mizuguchi Plastic Surgery Center in Kentucky or call (502) 899-9979 to schedule your visit.
About the Brazilian Butt Lift
A Brazilian butt lift is a fat transfer procedure performed by our surgeons as an outpatient procedure using local or general anesthetic. First, fat is collected using liposuction. The surgeon takes special care to keep as many fat cells alive as possible. Many patients choose to have areas of the body or face sculpted at this time such as the hips, thighs, or under the chin. After the harvested fat is prepared, it is injected into the desired areas of the buttocks. While not all of the transferred fat will take, the fat that is viable after 3 months is likely to remain that way.CaloSpa Rejuvenation Center
What to Expect During Recovery
Patient experiences vary after a Brazilian butt lift; in general you can expect areas where fat was harvested and where it was placed on the buttocks to be sore, swollen, and bruised. A standard compression garment will need to be worn for approximately 1 week after the procedure to minimize swelling and encourage smooth results.
Return to Work
Most patients are ready to return to work in about 1 week, but should avoid sitting for extended periods and refrain from strenuous exercise for about 2 to 3 weeks.
Other Things to Know
- Because the patient's own fat tissue is used, there is no risk of allergic reaction with fat grafting.
- It may be necessary to return for follow-up treatments if fat does not take evenly or if additional fullness is desired.
