Improvements from Revision Breast Surgery
You might be understandably worried that revision surgery may not completely "fix" your cosmetic concerns. Be reassured that our skilled plastic surgeons have many years of experience and advanced training to deal with the issues that arise when revising a prior breast surgery such as breast augmentation or a breast lift. Women choose revision surgery for a variety of reasons, which often include one or more of the following:
- Repositioning implants that have dropped or moved and don't look natural
- Exchanging breast implants for a different size or type (such as replacing saline implants with silicone)
- Correcting a complication (such as capsular contracture)
- Repositioning nipples
- Revising scars
- Removing breast implants without replacing them

About Revision Surgery
Although the exact process of the revision breast surgery procedure is specific to every patient, Dr. Calobrace, Dr. Mizuguchi, and Dr. Mays take special steps to ensure previous surgical complications aren't repeated. Using careful placement techniques and special surgical approaches that bypass scar tissue, our surgeons make it their mission to safely, effectively give you the beautiful results you deserve.
Generally, revision surgeries are outpatient procedures that last from 1 to 3 hours with the patient under general anesthesia.CaloSpa Rejuvenation Center
What to Expect During Recovery
Patients need to have a responsible adult drive them home after the procedure and provide 2 days or so of in-home care. Discomfort and swelling is similar to that after your initial surgical procedure. The schedule for resumption of normal activities and the risk profile is similar to other breast enhancement procedures, with variations for each patient's situation.
Will the things I don't like about my first surgery change without more surgery?
Complications and unsatisfactory results can occur, despite the best efforts of your other plastic surgeon. Some work out over time without revision surgery. Occasionally the effects do not improve and may need additional surgery to improve the final appearance of your breasts.
If I am unhappy with my implants and just want them removed, how will my breasts look?
While patient experiences vary, appearance of the breasts may not be desirable or pleasing if implants are removed and not replaced.
