Ear Pinning (Otoplasty)

Dr. M. Bradley Calobrace, Dr. Nana Mizuguchi, and Dr. Chet Mays perform ear pinning (otoplasty) in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, to reshape ears that protrude too far from the head. The procedure is also used to improve the appearance of misshapen ears. Cosmetic ear surgery may be performed as early as 5 years of age, but often is performed in adults as well.

About Cosmetic Ear Surgery

Model ImageOtoplasty is usually performed as an outpatient procedure in our AAAASF-approved surgical facility. Our surgeons typically use general anesthetic for children and local anesthetic for adults. Incisions are made on the back of the ear and small portions of fat and tissue are removed. Cartilage is reshaped and repositioned and held into place with sutures.

Adult patients can combine their ear surgery with rhinoplasty or chin augmentation for even more impressive results.
